TOTAL MASS CONFUSION [Official Disclaimer]

Monday, October 5th, 2015 by Mike Thaison

SEVENTRIBE is _NOT_ to be confused with a newly founded band with the same name OR their recently released record ‘Collide‘.
The real SEVENTRIBE has not recorded a new album.

SEVENTRIBE has ended for now, but will never die.

THIS IS THE END [Official announcement]

Thursday, June 4th, 2015 by Mike Thaison

Seventribe 1999-2015

In the beginning – late 1999 in Västerås, Sweden – a band was forged when two other bands split up under very turbulent conditions.
Out of this turmoil, anger and frustration Seventribe emerged.

The path was set; to make a fucking racket, to point fingers to the establishment, to cause controversy, to stand up for ourselves, to have balls, to fuck the norm and to channelize all bad energy into something constructive and positive – To befriend enemies, to convert skeptics, to give strength and inspiration to less fortunate, to make a difference, to show that metal runs so much deeper than your clothes, your haircut, your social status, your skincolor, or how much ink you’ve done.

Many years have passed, and the ride has been nothing short of insane. But the last couple of years focus has been shifted and diverted into something else than the very roots and spine of Seventribe. Divided views on what Seventribe is and should continue as, has made it impossible to carry on without compromises.
Seventribe never compromise. This wouldn’t be fair to ourselves, to the Seventribe phenomena, and most of all – not fair to you, our fans.

The situation has come to the very edge where the unison decision has been made between both the two remaining co-founders Mike Thaison and D-Man and the rest of the remaining members to end this era.
Needles to say, it is hard for us all. Although for the best.
Seventribe will never die, but has come to an end as it is for now.

Love and special credits:
-All of our supportive families and friends
-Previous members

Until we meet again – if love could kill, this is the end.

Departure of vocalist Davey Minor

Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 by Mike Thaison

We’re sorry to have to announce the departure of one of our vocalists Davey Minor.
After two years carrying the heavy load of being a front man as well as our frikkin equipment thru out Europe, he has to throw in the towel due to personal reasons.
Seventribe appreciates both the personality as well as the talent and want to wish him all the best in his future endeavors!
Peez bro!!!

End of the Indonesia tour!

Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 by Mike Thaison

After the long buss ride from Kebumen back to Depok, the whole crew was pretty exhausted and pleased that it was time for a day off before the final two shows.
So finally we got at least one day on the tour we´re we could chill out by the hotel pool, do some shopping and and try out the nightlife. Which in a 88% muslim country is pretty interesting. We found some nightclubs, but no Jägermeister!!!? (So we’ve got to go back and maybe make a Jägermeister promotion tour!?)

Anyhow, next stop was Bekasi. This one really put us to the test. Imagine yourself in asian tropical climate. Then shove 300+ people into a tight venue. Then squeeze yourself furthest into that room and try to play a pretty energetic metal show…like a sauna rollercoaster.
But super psyched karate mosh crowd! Sooo good times!

Last show was also very special.
That day we had lunch with the promotor. And he told us that unfortunately the asshole booker for the last show had taken the money he got up front from different bands and acts to arrange the show and disappeared!
Lucky for us there was an opportunity to do a show anyway. Turned out there was a ”open mic”-sorta gig for metal bands on the other side of Jakarta. So since we really wanted to do a last show, we went there.
Of course the venue was tiny, hot, smoke-filled with crappy equipment and filled up with hardcore kids! It was awesome!!! Just a total rage as always!

And that was it!Before flying home we had dinner with the whole crew and even got to see some special karaoke talent from some of the members!

It was a fucking blast!
Very exhausting travel, diarrhea lifestyle, rice, rice, rice and no clean water to be found.
But it was all worth it the minute we stepped into every venue and saw the crowds!

Who made this possible: EKTK, Jägermeister, Loudly loud!!!!!! SUPERMEGATHX!!!
Special thanks: Bewok, Zein, Erwan, Latif, Vijay and all the rest of Edisan music! And of course Dying distortion!

First week in Indonesia!

Thursday, September 11th, 2014 by Mike Thaison

When we woke up there was still some confusion about where we were supposed to play for the night. We said fuck it and bought some coconut ice cream and went to Jungle Water Park.

Since the confusion was massive we skipped all plans and played in the same place as yesterday, Edisan Music Depok. However the word had spread and this time the venue was filled to the brim with metallovers. We moshed, we crowsurfed and had an awesome fucking time.

After a few hours of sleep we were on the road again. This time we made our impact upon Wedding Land, Bogur. That´s right, the show was set in a place specifically built to host weddings. This land is treating us with strange awesomeness upon strange awesomeness.

Next stop was Jogjakarta and Festival Bawahtanah. In order to get there we had ride the bus for almost 21 hours. It was a true pain in the ass but washed away the instant we stepped on stage and met almost 300 crazed up headbangers. Unfortunately D-Man got struck with some sort of mutated monstervirus that rendered him totally incapacitated. Our roadie/tour manager/fix-it-all-guy was able to fill in for him. Nowhere near the same quality in his vocals but at least he has dreadlocks.

After a refreshing night in a hotel that reminded us all of playing through silent hill we went to Kebumen. A small city and naturally we had small expectations. The old proverb that minds us not to judge the book by the cover seemed right again however. We mounted the stage armed to our teeth and the massive force of 1500 screaming Indonesian fans that amassed for the greatness of Gutsbull Movement Fest. Big up to Kebumen Hardcore!

First days in Indonesia!

Monday, September 8th, 2014 by Mike Thaison

Indonesia has so far been nothing but fantastic. We were picked up at the airport, served food and had some beers.  The toughest part so far has been trying to get used to the climate. It´s around 30 degrees Celsius and the humidity is comparable to a waterfall.

Even though communicating is quite hard sometimes we´ve had our fair share of laughter and language lessons. Some of us have reached the level of saying hi and thank you. Some still struggle.

Loudly Loud have been awesome at taking care of us. They have welcomed us in their houses, they have served us homecooked meals and so great at taking care of us. But they are nothing compared to the audience that took us in. Together we dance, mosh, yelled obscenities and have a great effin time! All in the heat.

There is really no way to describe how warm it is down here, we did the first two shows in small venues without AC filled to the brim with metal and metallovers. Once the gig was over we were literary soaked. It was as if someone thrown us in to a swimming pool and beat the shit out of us.

Afterwards when we were trying to get our breaths back the fans flocked. Everyone wanted to take a picture, talk about the mind-blowing experience of seeing a band that play music with their bodies for the first time.

It was also really fun to see all the other bands playing, before us 29 acts had been playing. Most of them only played two songs and were quite inexperienced. But it´s great to see that there is a venue where small up-and-coming bands can get stage time. The metal scene in Indonesia is quite brutal already and I think that in a few years we will see an explosion in great bands!
